Final TAB and capacity verification for a data center

Measure, adjust, and balance the selected systems; establish final operating setpoints; and document verified conditions and unresolved constraints
Perform cooling-capacity testing at an agreed representative heat load; verify delivered airflow and water flow, equipment output, rack-inlet and environmental conditions, and stability against the acceptance criteria
Verify CRAH, CRAC, and air-handling-unit airflow; room distribution; containment and pressure relationships; and representative rack-inlet conditions
Verify pump operating points, coil flows, entering and leaving water temperatures, differential pressure, and system temperature difference at the tested load
Demonstrate redundancy and recovery through lead-lag rotation, standby equipment operation, and planned equipment changeover or simulated failure scenarios
Correlate readings across the selected system groups in the same operating mode so the final report explains overall system performance—not isolated measurements

What does HVAC testing and balancing include?+

TAB measures system performance, adjusts air and water distribution, verifies equipment operation, documents deficiencies, and records final results against the design values. The exact scope depends on the systems, project specifications, and readiness of the installation and controls.

Is BSP currently an AABC-certified TAB agency?+

No—not yet. BSP provides independent TAB services but is not currently represented as an AABC-certified TAB agency. BSP's ACG membership and commissioning certification are separate credentials, and proposals should state project-specific qualification requirements accurately.

When should the TAB contractor become involved?+

Early coordination helps identify missing balancing devices, access problems, incomplete controls requirements, and unrealistic schedules before they become field delays. Final balancing should begin only after systems are complete, clean, operating, and under stable automatic control.

How is TAB different from commissioning?+

TAB measures and adjusts air and water systems to achieve required performance. Commissioning is a broader owner-focused quality process that verifies systems meet project requirements and operate together as intended. BSP leads with TAB and offers commissioning support as a complementary service.

Can BSP support projects outside Texas?+

Yes. BSP is Texas based and provides nationwide on-site verification and project coordination, subject to schedule and project requirements.
